Windows XP Dark Edition

Windows XP Dark Edition Version is made or rather modified by someone from Thailand with the initials "Catalogk" (Try checking the properties menu. Where there was written By Catalogk, small, in the lower right corner). For the newest version is version 7,but i will reviews about version 6.

Although there are elements of XP name in it's, but the XP Dark Edition version is usually slightly different with XP. Okay here are some significant differences from both:

1. Skin / Theme that is used. Used similar themes in Windows Vista, but it is more attractive than Vista because the dark theme looks cool.So, who want to try Windows Vista but the hardware specifications is low,you can taste fit Aero theme with XP Dark Edition.

2. Menu at Start Up. When the Start Up, Dark Edition has 3 main menu, like:

a. Setup Windows Dark Edition v6
This menu is selected if you want to install Windows XP Dark Edition
b. Boot from Hard Disk
Same with the name, the menu to boot from the hard disk
c. Boot Function
Includes many tools to boot, such as: Wipe CMOS Clear, Win98 boot disk, Win ME boot disk, Norton Ghost, Partition Magic, NTLDR fixer, etc..
You can select the menu above by clicking on one of the menu using the mouse or may be by pressing the F1-F12 appropriate for each menu.

3. Options are many types of installation. When the main menu we select the Windows Setup Dark Edition v.6, 7 will display the type of installation option of Windows XP Dark Edition. The explanation is as follows :
a. Original Version. Used to install XP Dark Edition with a base system, which is a standard system. Additional drivers will not come installed.
b. SATA / RAID Driver Version. Drivers for SATA / RAID will also be included in the installation.
c. All Driver (wthout SATA / RAID Driver) Version. Drivers are usually not in the regular version of XP, will come installed, except the drivers for SATA / RAID).
d. All Driver Version. All drivers will be installed.
e. Full Option Version. XP Dark Edition will be installed in full, in addition to drivers, will be installed also tools to diagnose hardware, such as: CPUz, GPUz, etc..
f. Repair Version. Just as the repair feature on a regular XP installation.
g.Repair Version (SATA / RAID drivers). Used to repair the previous installation, equipped with SATA / RAID drivers.

That some differences between XP Dark Edition with regular XP. For the installation process with the usual XP. Windows XP Service Pack 3 (XP SP3) fixes a range of bugs and adds new features to Windows XP. The file is a large download and can be applied to any version of Windows XP Home, Professional, TabletPC or Media Center (32 bit only). However, you must have installed either Windows SP1 or SP2 before SP3.* Keep in mind that new patches made available after Service Pack 3 was released (mid April 2008) will still need to be applied.

Important notes: Microsoft advise uninstalling any beta or Release Candidate versions before installing this final release. Do not install Service Pack 3 on systems with AMD chips unless a special hotfix has been applied first. The advantage of this full download is that it can be used on any system - plus it doesn't require an Internet connection to install. The following are already available for Windows XP in stand-alone updates. Windows XP SP3 includes them by default (System administrators must choose to install each of these updates): MMC 3.0, MSXML6, Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 v2, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.5, IPsec Simple Policy Update for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP, Digital Identity, Management Service (DIMS), Peer Name Resolution Protocol (PNRP) 2.1, Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2).
From the Release Notes: "Microsoft is not adding significant functionality from newer versions of Windows, such as Windows Vista, to Windows XP through XP SP3. For instance, Windows XP SP3 does not include Windows Internet Explorer 7, although Windows XP SP3 does include updates to both Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7, and it will update whichever version is installed on the computer. One notable exception is that, SP3 does include Network Access Protection (NAP)."
*This next bit is going to get confusing. Microsoft stopped supporting the early releases of Windows XP. You can't apply SP3 unless you have, at bare minimum, Windows XP SP1a. However, Service Pack 2 includes all of Service Pack 1a. So... if you have either Windows XP original (with no Service Pack), you must install Service Pack 2 first, followed by Service Pack 3. What is the difference 32 of the 64-bit OS?
For the average PC user is the following:
- If your PC is set to or less than 4 GB of RAM, enough to be normal, 32-bit OS;
- If your PC is set larger than 4GB of RAM, you have to put 64-bit OS.

How to burn a disk image (using Nero Burning ROM):
- Start Nero Burning ROM, covering pre-launch window for the selection of the project, select the menu "Recorder" - "Burn Image";
- In the window that appears, find the right disk image and open it. Then select the recording settings (recording speed to choose the minimum, mandatory) and record the image on the disc.

Windows 7 Superbar for XP

This is a tutorial on how to get Windows 7 Superbar in Windows XP.

1. First download Winstep 8.11: [link]

2. Right click on the taskbar on an application, go to Tasklist settings>Tasklist icon size>32 x 32.

2.5. If you want icon only(like in screenshot), right click again and go to Tasklist settings>click show icon labels which unchecks it.

3. Download my Windows 7 skin I created by clicking on the download link near top left of page.

4. Double click the file that you just downloaded.

5. If the theme doesn't open automatically after you double click on file, right click the arrow on the far right of the superbar>Themes>Windows 7

6. Go to the preferences by right clicking the icon in the toolbar and go to the 3rd tab. Make sure to change Task Grouping to Group Similar to get the effect shown in screenshot with 2 or more windows showing on hover over.

OOTOR visual style for Windows XP

This is imitation of original NOOTO GTK by lassekongo83 from this [link] . I really like original version for GTK, and wished it on win xp, so... I used his visual style NOOTO VS [link] as base for creating real authentic NOOTO GTK for windows xp. I call it NOOTOR (R as real nooto gtk). Thanks to =lassekongo83 for original creations.

In this remake 2 styles are included. First which has almost all parts reworked to imitate original NOOTO GTK (buttons, progressbar, tabs, scrollbars, comboboxes, captionbars, colors, etc.). And second style is very similar but with different startbutton, taskbarbuttons and progress bar background (chose it from color scheme combobox).

I hope you'll enjoy this NOOTO GTK imitation

Please install fonts from this package.

To use visual style You must have uxtheme.dll file patched. If your dll is not already patched, You can do that automatic with best tool for that "UltraUXThemePatcher". It can patch all type of Windows, no matter is it XP, 2000, Vista and so on. Download that tool here --> [link]

Copy NOOTOR folder together with content in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes and after that you can chose styles under right click on desktop -> Properties -> Appearance tab.

If style has more color schemes you can chose different colors in "Color scheme" combo-box.

Interesting facts:
Sounds for the game were recorded at Skywalker Sound Studios sound engineer Jenna Vance (Jana Vance), who worked on the sound design for film "Saving Private Ryan," "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" and "black hole".
Unlike most games based on Star Wars - Republic Commando uses music by John Williams only partially. Especially for a game composer Jesse Harlin wrote several choral tracks on the Mandalorian language.
Immediately after the game in light of a book Star Wars: Republic Commando - Hard Contact written by military journalist Karen Treviss. Later, the book has appeared which continued talking about the fate of colleagues Delta Squad - Omega Squad. The book was called Triple Zero. Both books are still not officially translated into Russian.
Before the game the main focus was on what the protagonist is not a Jedi, and that the game will not be laser swords. Add another name to the roster of feature-rich freeware image editors: PhotoScape. Although it eats and leaks about as much memory as Firefox, this editor is perfect for those making the jump between JPEG and am-pro dSLR work.
It supports RAW, as well as all other major image formats from JPEG and PNG to animated GIFs. It comes with prebuilt templates for users to create photo collages, fumetti, and Web comics, and has a standard set of red-eye removal, light/shadow, and contrast-editing features. One warning about the RAW processing: although it looks like you can drag and drop, the converter doesn't change RAW to JPEG unless you load the RAW file from within the native file navigator. It's a minor bug, but one that can lead you to believe that there's no RAW support at all. You can also batch edit images, combine them, and print them out one at a time or several at once.
The program loads fast and possesses an interface completely different from those familiar with Adobe's industry-leading tools. Users are greeted by circular navigator complemented by a tabbed nav on the top of the main screen. Most but not all main features are accessible from either nav. It might take some people time to get used to the unusual layout, but it's only unusual for an image editor; otherwise it's intuitive, fast, and lacks only the most advanced of image editing features.

People who are hesitant with technology will enjoy this program, as the lack of drop-down menus and expanded options makes it easy to operate. Magic Photo Editor allows the user to add text, frames, and clip art to their colleges. But after we finished editing, we found that its options and collage effects produced amateurish results. When you are finished creating your masterpiece, you can save the file in low-res JPEG format, or in high-res BMP format. We wish that there were a way to save files as high-resolution JPEGs. BMP is a common file format, but why not use the even more common JPEG?
Magic Photo Editor offers a 30-day trial period. It downloads easily and does not add any unwanted clutter to your computer, such as desktop shortcuts or Quick Launch icons. This is a great tool for those new to photo-editing programs, but users who have had experience using popular image manipulation programs such as Photoshop will find this program too simplistic.
